This architectural sculpture is the center of the Karlsruhe Festival Summer and the absolute eye-catcher of the Palace Garden. The pavilion is open daily from June 17 - September 27, 2015 and serves as info point, meeting place, venue, and viewing terrace. Here, guests can sit comfortably and enjoy a cup of coffee, marvel at the various on-stage events or simply enjoy a breathtaking view of the blooming Palace Garden. The pavilion is open to locals and guests alike, and should be seen as a meeting place where people can (re-)discover Karlsruhe, the region, and themselves.
Designed by internationally renowned architect Jürgen Mayer H., the pavilion is located directly behind Karlsruhe Palace, corresponding and contrasting brilliantly with the magnificent Baroque building.
Since Karlsruhe’s Anniversary is a self-proclaimed green event all components of the stage are also recyclable.
The main idea is to have the Festival Summer Program move on a timeline from past to future. The city’s anniversary not only looks back at 300 years of Karlsruhe history, but also deals with its present and future. Karlsruhe citizens and local cultural and scientific institutions, artists, groups, and associations are the backbone of the entire festival.
